The Challenge
As part of product improvement and in close collaboration with the Technical Director and COO, we undertook a platform restructuring effort to meet conversion goals and enhance the overall user experience.
The Nüag product caters to a diverse audience, including businesses, associations, cooperatives, and must therefore provide a simple, accessible, and adaptable experience tailored to the complexities of each organization. Given the highly technical composition of the teams, one aspect of the application that warranted a revamp was the in-session voting flow.
The task of allowing attendees to vote during a General Assembly is a multifaceted challenge that involves addressing several key issues. Some of the challenges that you can consider in this case study are:
Follow a navigable agenda that is updated based on the progress of votes.
Allow voters to cast their votes for all resolutions one after the other without requiring unnecessary navigation.
Enable participant check-in for the organizer.
Provide a space for interactions among all participants.
Allow the organizer to announce results, close a resolution, etc., and thus take real-time action on all votes.
Provide real-time quorum information to enable the organizer to make informed decisions about resolution management.
Process
Our team started the project by understanding the user's needs, and gathering feedback from users during their interactions with our Account Manager. We conducted extensive research on the current voting experience, as well as that of our competitors, all with the aim of identifying best practices.

Solution
One of the main objectives of an organizer is to reach their quorum. A guided and straightforward voting experience increases voter participation and makes it easier to achieve this objective.
To effectively distribute the essential voting elements across the screen, we chose to work in sections. We minimized navigation as much as possible and immediately engaged the voter in their voting panel as soon as it was opened. To keep the user's attention focused on this panel, we centered it, made it wider, and interactive. Each action is rewarded with the unlocking of a CTA or a voting status. This approach reduces the margin for potential errors and visually guides the user through their voting experience.
To simplify the experience for organizers, we designed the same interface as that of their voters, with the difference that they need to monitor and take real-time action on resolutions. By providing them with comparable spaces, organizers are empowered to guide their voters without relying on Nüag's assistance.
Key takeaways
After two months of design and development work, the feature was launched, and the results have been impressive. Our Account Manager noticed a significant decrease in their interactions on the chat with voters, which indicates that they have successfully achieved their voting objectives. To support this, we also analyzed a substantial increase in quorum attainment during in-session votes.
This work is part of a comprehensive platform redesign that began nearly two years ago. With each update, we observe a noticeable improvement in user behavior, allowing us to focus our resources on new aspects of the business.
